Introduction:

Dr. Bahareh Kamranzad is an Assistant Professor at the Hakubi Center for Advanced Research, and Graduate School of Advanced Integrated Studies in Human Survivability (Gsais/Shishukan), Kyoto University. She is specialized in Civil and Hydraulic/Coastal Engineering, and her research activities mainly focus on ocean renewable energies, climate change impacts, wave climate and modeling, coastal protection, and extreme events. Until now, she has published more than 30 peer-reviewed journal articles mainly in high-tier journals, and more than 30 conference publications in her area of expertise (full list of publications). She has received several national and international awards and achieved highly competitive positions, including JSPS (Japan Society for the Promotion of Science) Postdoctoral Research fellowship (acceptance rate: less than 10%), and Hakubi Global type full-time faculty position at Kyoto University ​(acceptance rate: around 3%). She has contributed to 11 research projects and has been the PI (Principal Investigator) for 7 projects with successful outcomes and achievements. She has now two ongoing projects as PI with budgets of 80,000 RMB supported by Sichuan University, China, and ¥4,290,000 supported by JSPS-KAKENHI (Kiban C). Dr. Kamranzad has been the guest editor for JMSE (Impact factor=2.033) and Climate (CiteScore=3.2) and is a co-founder of the International Integrated Wave Energy Research Group​ (IIWER). In addition, she has been a reviewer of high-tier journals such as Energy, Renewable Energy, Applied Ocean Research, Ocean Engineering, etc., and has done more than 70 reviews for them until now. She has been invited for talks in several universities and research institutes and has given lectures in graduate and under-graduate courses (full list of invited talks and lectures).
