My research is mainly focused on wave climate and wave energy assessment and the impact of climate change. The main topics I have performed research on are:

  • Marine renewable energies (wave energy)

  • Climate change impact assessment

  • Numerical wave modeling (forecasting and hindcasting)

  • Spatio-temporal assessment of long-term wave climate

  • Soft computing methods in wave simulations

  • Extreme value analysis

  • Coast/shore protection

  • Coastal zone management

NEWS (2020/01)

01/15 I had a presentation about “Climate Change and Ocean Wave Energy” at "International mobility program: Cultural Identities Shaping Environmental Regulation in Japan"  at Kyoto University.

01/13 Our research paper on "Investigations on ocean wave energy assessment in Sri Lanka" has been awarded the second best paper in National Sustainable Energy Symposium 2019 in Sri Lanka.

01/13 Associate researcher Wen Yi from Sichuan University visited our lab and she will stay for one week.

01/07 Call for abstracts has been started for JpGU-AGU Joint Meeting 2020. We will organize the session A-OS16: "Ocean renewable energy: resource, impacts and technologies" LINK
